Bonnie; I just came across this older message of your's , and it
makes more sense than I like to admit.
I also see net cash did a vanishing act, now the question is
on this last run up, and the inflow into equity funds at the
time, could that inflow have been on margin ?
I'v never margined very much at all, and have never asked the
broker if I could actually buy a mutual fund on margin,
you know if that's happening, then the mutual funds can
really be margined more than they know about, or that I thought
of. I mean if the fund has even 5% cash, but even 1/3 the
holders in it are on margin, it could be a mess if things start down.
--------------
There may be more to the Brokers uping the margin requirements
on net stocks that meets the eye, not saying there is ; just
damm if I know.
Can the little guy buy mutual funds on margin..?
I know that sounds dumb , but darn I never was interested
on doing it so I never checked.
