What a change from 3 years ago. Back then the typical bid/ask was
for example 5 1/8 to 5 3/8. I would pay well over a $100 for commissions even with a discount broker. Buys would always be at the ask and sells would always be at the bid or worse.

Now commissions are negligible through internet trading. My last 2
Ancor trades were buys that I got at the bid.
A typical bid/ask spread is now often only 1/16 for an actively
traded stock that is trading around $5.

There has also been a revolution in information. Three years ago
the message boards were just getting started. I would get most of
my information from newspapers and quarterly reports. Now for
example with the Ancor message boards you have industry insiders,
engineers, short term traders, short sellers, people giving reports
from trade shows, people calling the company a reporting back what
they heard etc. You can also look at the web sites of the companies
you invest in. You can read all the company press releases and all the
filings with the SEC. It is really a very exciting time to be
investing and potentially much more profitable.

Regards,
Steve
