Just a note to our defamatory friend with the website.
I recently was referred to a prospective client in another state. He needed an attorney because he is being sued for 40 million dollars by a large company, for making defamatory statements on the internet. I did not get the details, because I could not represent him, but it sounded like the alleged wrongdoing paled in comparison to Mr. basher. I won't dignify him by stating his name. In any event, right or wrong, such lawsuits are becoming more common and, IMO, we have not seen the tip of the iceberg. As the internet becomes a more common form of communication upon which people rely, it will move into a commonly accepted forum of DD, much like Baron's, IBD, etc. As such, people such as Mr. Basher will find themselves in very deep Sh*t. Remember, even if right, a lawsuit will cost him in the 6 figures just to defend himself.
To all the bashers, hope your little vicarious forms of entertainment are satisfactory, because that little one page document called a summons will knock your socks off! |
