On 01/02/97 the german stock newsletter "Das Wertpapier" published an article about QUIAGEN.

They say that QUIAGEN produces filters for the isolation of genetic material in DANN and RNS. QUIAGEN - founder Metin Colpan says the turnover of his company is 4 to 5 times higher (!!!) than all other comanies together in this market segment. He and his financial director wouldn't sell their stocks even if they were at US$ 62, they say.
Both of them lead the company since the foundation in 1985. QUIAGEN is located in the city of Hilden, 20 km south from Duesseldorf.
The company is strongly expanding and is steadily looking for new employees.
Via a dutch financial holding Co. they emitted 3.4 million stocks at US$ 12 each at Nasdaq (Ticker = QGENF).
In the meantime it was also introduced to the Berlin stock exchange (WKN 901626).
Colpan and Schatz own 1.5 million stocks together; the overall volume is 16.2 million.
54% of the stocks are owned by the board of directors. The academic and industrial customers use the Quiagen filters for the seperation and cleaning of nucleins to develop new medicals; for clinical diagnostics, for genetical injections or for genetical therapies.

An exciting 4 th Q report is expected to be released on 10 th Feb.
