Lee, Being on margin, IMHO, looks kind of risky considering most of
the earnings in big techs have already been released. There is not
much to drive the market---unless you count last week's correction
to mean that the markets have been oversold. I decided to extend
my self to a fully margined position on Friday (in Canada it is a
30% requirement). I am betting INTEL and MSFT can't go much lower
because the big funds holding the IBM type of stocks might want
to buy more of Intel/MSFT/CSCO, the "gorrillas". CSCO should have
some more of a run up to earnings (release Feb 2).

In my retirement account , I have bought some options on
DELL because it is still to report earnings just
like CSCO----and the momentum investors might be
jumping on the bandwagon til earnings. Still holding a lot of
cash in my wife's account. In my account, I am 95% in stock and
5% in options (dell/CSCO/INTC)

BTW--my approach above is somewhat "conservative" or defensive given
my usual approach to investing, which is buy call options on the good
companies and hope to get a 500% return short term. I don't feel as
confident of getting a huge rally until early March since investors
will then want to
position themselves in MSFT and INtel type of company
reporting in April.
