re: Intel, Security on a Chip

The Orwell paranoids are and will be out in full force on this one. Thank you Intel for taking the initial blow. A company of Wave's current size and stature could never persuade media and public opinion. Intel should be able to pull it off. If Intel and Wave have any relationship at all (which I still have my doubts at this point), I could even imagine that it was mutually decided that Intel be the one to introduce the world to hardware-based encryption, not Wave.

Besides, priming the e-commerce pump was long overdue. And so what? Let the naysayers boycott Intel. They probably don't drive cars with serial numbers either. Eventually, they'll warm up to it.
