Interesting. It is playing to Saudi Arabia's greatest vulnerability, its alliance with the US, and the resulting unrest among the Sunni fundamentalists in Saudi. I think it increases pressure on Saudi Arabia to initiate cut backs in production. I've also noticed several reports (of questionable reliability)of a Saudi plot to gain market market share by keeping prices low and forcing out higher cost producers. All kinds of rumors going around, and the economic and political stresses caused by low prices is a fertile ground for them to grow. Interesting.

Also several reports of Sunni fundamentalism growing in Pakistan, and conflicts with moderates and Shites there. The holy war is spreading. Meanwhile, in Afghanistan, the Iranian backed Shites have been making advances against the Taliban, due to the number of Taliban forces tied up against the Iranian forces at the border. Things are still cooking for, at some point, a major blowup in the Mideast.
