Well, I can tell you how to fix part of it: Open the short cut to powerdesk and put quotes around the path, that is, change c:\Program Files\Whichever\Whatever to "C:\Program Files\Whichever\Whatever".
The fact that you capitalized "Temp" leads me to suspect you did it from C:\Temp (or whatever your temp folder is as specified in the environment, which you can view from "My Computer" properties). If so, I quote the Matrox page (liberally): Some users have experienced problems running this install from the Temp folder. Unzip it into another folder.
I would guess that the install writes temporary files, which go into the Temp folder, and which step on files in the install if it's in the Temp folder.
BTW, did you get the latest drivers as of Jan 15?
You got me on the properities. It was my assumption as to where the properties would appear, which I should have told you. I was drawing an inference from their appearance in one or the other of those places in the older Matrox Millenium setup. Now that you've caught me, I dimly remember they didn't get integrated so nicely in earlier versions of the previous drivers either; they only appeared later on. Sorry, my mistake.
It's possible the property page will appear on the desktop context menu (what you get when you right click the desktop) once you get a good install, though.
I was thinking about trying it this weekend myself, having all the parts and pieces now, but I'm not sure I'll get to it. If so, I'll keep the thread posted (unless I can't boot this sucker <G>). I'm hesitating a little because I'm thinking of having a run at Matrox to replace my .35 micron cards with .25 micron technology. Dunno if they'll be receptive or not and dunno if I'll even try it. So much time, so little to do ... <g>. |
