I'm not convinced that Duke is a better team than Cincinnati, based on the way that UC carved up a good Louisville team Thursday night at Freedom Hall. I watched that game and the game one week earlier when UNC-Charlotte held on to beat a Bearcat team that appeared to be sleepwalking. Bad call or not at the end of that game, UC didn't deserve to win it, and it served as a wake-up call, as is evidenced by the way the Bearcats played against Louisville. If Huggins can succeed in convincing Melvin Levitt to attack the basket instead of shooting treys, that makes UC a much tougher team come tourney time.

Duke has a couple hurdles to overcome: (1) ACC is very weak this year. (2) The psychological burden of the collapse last year vs. UK in the final 8. I agree with those who say it would help Duke to lose a game or two in the conference before the big dance.

As far as the Big 10 getting in 7 or 8 teams in the NCAA Tourney: Don't you have to have at least a .500 conference record to qualify for the big show? Unless, that is, you win a post-season tourney?
