Okay, Mike, I looked up that film you recommended, and it is definitely called "A Thousand Acres." As you might have guessed, it got mixed reviews, although generally favorable. One critic thought it was not as good as the book, and another thought the male characters were not really very well fleshed out. Like you, though, I don't really care much what reviewers think. If the movie evokes an emotional response in me, or says something special, I think it was well worth the time. I'll let you know my opinion when I have watched it.
