You Guys Make me laugh.

As an AMD stockholder, I for one am glad about the NextGen purchase.
Although the Book Value of AMD was affected negatively, The streets
perception of the companies future has increased dramatically. Now
I am no market Guru, but I know enough to realize that stocks tend
to increase based on future prospects, not book value. If stocks
traded based on book value, the mighty INTC would not be selling
for $150 a share.

As far as the NextGen purchase goes, AMD was going down the s**ter
before the next NextGen purchase. Way behind INTC and losing any
market share they once had. The only thing that propelled AMD from
a $5 a share company to a $35 a share company was the revenue from
the 386 and 486 processors. Without the NextGen purchase AMD was
dead in the water killing themselves spending money trying
to keep up on technology they were never going to catch up with.

Now with the NextGen purchase, AMD is like David with his slingshot
and rock in hand (K6) with dead aim at the forhead of the mighty
Giant (INTC), and all the INTC followers are trying to justify
staying with a stock that has been so good to them over the years.

To question the NextGen purchase at this time would only be coming
from an INTC follower trying to justify his position in INTC by looking for anything bad he can find about AMD instead of looking at the facts. The facts are clear. With the K6, AMD will have a strong position in Windows compatable processors for the first time ever. This cannot have anything but an adverse effect on INTC's earnings as they no longer have a monopoly and the luxury of setting prices as
they deem fit.

Looking at the current trend in the price of AMD stock I think NextGen
would have been a bargain at twice the price. AMD not only is back
in the game as far as processors are concerned, but with the NextGen purchase, they also have the talent to carry them on to the next generation. What kind of price can you put on that?

Just my 2 cents.

Paul
