Anti-virus software to address server-push applications has been announced by McAfee, as you probably know. McAfee's stock hopped briefly on the news. Whether or not McAfee winds up making money on this concept, I don't know of any reason why it's not feasible. It's an obvious task that future generations of browser software, including Netscape's, should be able to perform: scan an incoming applet for viruses before running it on the machine. It's anyone's guess whether the browser anti-virus software will be able to stay ahead of hacked applets.
