<<INRANGE delivers 8/16 port Fibre Channel Switch>>

For the Ancor newbies, the INRANGE $9 million licensing/royalty deal announced last Sept is a separate deal from this INRANGE OEM. The $9 million was essentially for Ancor's proprietary asic technology ( chips) so that INRANGE could incorporate it into their ESCON /FC Director products that compete head to head in the 128-256 port space ( Data centers that use Mainframe computers that require highly fault tolerant/high redundancy products where price is no object )..The market leader in the ESCON director market is Mcdata and Inrange is their only competition.

This deal is Ancor actually producing the finished product, ie, both 8 and 16 port MK-II switches and slapping the "INRANGE FC9000" brand name on it. Has anyone seen the pricing on the FC9000 yet?

KJ Moy, do you have anything to add? Appreciate your input.
