>>.68a from Matrox and the 3.60 from the g200 cd both install MGA64 as the actual device driver. So whats the difference between 3.68a and 3.60 if MGA64 is common to them both?

One is a later version, that's all.

>>Where are shortcut paths located?

A shortcut is simply a small file which directs execution
elsewhere.

The ones that run automatically when NT starts are in two places.
Assuming your NT directory is c:\winnt and your logon name is
clarence they are:

c:\winnt\profiles\clarence\start menu\programs\startup

or

c:\winnt\profiles\all users\start menu\programs\startup

A quick way to get to them is right click the start button
and choose "Explore" for your start menu or "Explore All Users"
for the All Users start menu. This will take you as far
as "Start Menu" in each of the paths above. You still have
to navigate down to Programs\Startup. Once you get there
you will see a bunch of shortcuts. Find one that looks
suspiscious (e.g., has MGA or Matrox in its name), open it's
property sheet (select and press ALT-ENTER or right click
and choose properties), go to the Short Cut tab, and you
will see Target: with a path in it. That's the one.

You can practice on the shortcuts on your disktop. Highlight
one and press ALT-ENTER.

Since I have got this
far, I might as well point out that when you (left) click the
start button and scroll up to Programs, the popup menu
that appears is
divided by a horizontal bar. The entries above the bar
come from your personal logon profile and are different
(potentially, anyhow) for each user account; the entries below
the bar come from the All Users profile.
