Well, I would never get an abortion myself, and would try to dissuade my daughter from getting one (although ultimately it would be her choice). I do think that if you are talking about abortion cheapening the general reverence for life, however, a valid point in contrast would be that women get abortions exactly because they do not believe they can support more life. So it is a decision that has inside it a HUGE reverence for life. Also, I don't think bringing children into the world just to suffer and probably die because the parents cannot sustain their lives in adverse circumstances, is very reverent of life.

I do think that late-term abortions should be illegal unless the fetus is already dead or the mother's life is in danger. And it is difficult to imagine that a fetus an inch long feels as much pain as its life is snuffed out, as an almost-term baby does.
