sorry, but you are talking to a beginner in VB all I have managed to do is reproduce what I did in old qbasic with some new tricks - like tc2000 v4 - I am seriously considering taking a class of some sort - there is just a whole new environment that is greek to me you can write an old "process" type program (no GUI) by keeping your code to the "form1" subroutine and you really dont have to know that much about vs - but to get beyond that point takes some doing - I am stumbling along with the learning edition sorry I am not more inspirational Bob
