Well, X, when Mike suggested "A Thousand Acres" I believe we were talking about sad movies where people die. I think it is very life-affirming to see them. I have added your suggestions to my list. I tried to rent "Ponette" yesterday, but it was out. Unfortunately, most of the best movies are never at the video store! Incidentally, is "Les Miserables" with Liam Neeson good? My husband rented it, but I am not in a serious mood, and it sounds very serious.
