Hi Walt, I also enjoy your posts and would like to remind everyone that it is the prospectors like Walt that find mines not the geologists and not the engineers. My friend from the Yukon, who I prospected with about 10 years ago always tells me that a good prospector walks many miles and keeps his nose close to the ground. I think prospectors find things because thay are willing to walk into the nasty places with the bugs etc., where the geologists from the big companys either won't go or have decided that an area just doesn't merit looking at.

Regarding diamonds, I have heard that there has been the odd diamond found in the overburden in Southern Ontario including an esker somewhere near Peterboro. I think this stimulated some work back in the 60's where they atempted to find the source. I think there was quite alot of work was done including some drilling in the Belcher islands in Hudson Bay but to no avail.

Hope you find an elephant Walt!

Rob
