What Cash and Mike were discussing was people who were trying to achieve something in which they believed. Mike was focused on failures while Cash spoke to the need for people to pursue their goals.

After all, that is how Edison invented the incandescent light bulb, how McGwire hit 70 hrs, how Johnny Cash ended up in the Country Music Hall of Fame.
