Could someone explain how JAVA can potentially become an engine for driving the future storage market ? specifically, heterogeneous and open storage by applying leading methodologies such as SAN. Storage as it relates to high availability, flexibility, and scalability is strategic to large and small enterprises. E-commerce, Y2k (and all future conversions), time to market, customer relationship, and competitive advantage are some of the business imperatives. May be this is a win win scenario for both SUN and EMC.
