Lance,
I have been dwelling all weekend on the news release about the sale of timberland for $96million. I know there are unanswered questions about how much land would theoretically be sold, how soon, how much land would be left, etc. However, if the 96million figure can be taken as realistic, I can only surmise one thing..... On the last full year financial statement, Madera valued it's timberland investment at about $26million, I believe. If they can generate cash of $96 million, even if it is projected over several years...and even if they sell it all!!!! and are left with only a website selling crafts from the tribes....my math tells me that the book value of this company skyrockets....How could any accountant value this company at less than several dollars/share. Would someone who is savvy in financial statement analysis help me. How can I not buy big on Monday if I believe the possibility of the cash infusion from this land sale.
