Cash Money, thank you for your reply. I tried to find the company's home page, and tried www.valunet.com, which would be logical. That brought me to some ISP in Ohio, I think it was. Finally found their site, and browsed around. I tried the "electronic commerce demo" (what a joke) #7 says "an email is sent to the consumer advertising him/her that their purchase has been approved"

And this gem, from www.webthisweek :

At Scudder, "We never forget it's your money."Ö
This site presents information about Scudder Funds in a relaxed and easy manner that helps the browser overcome any fear or doubt about the world of investing. They remove the confusion from investment and legal jargon by putting them into laymen terms to help potential investors understand how Scudder can improve your bottom line

The "O is not my typo. The "browser"? Do they mean Netscape Navigator? Second sentence: who does 'they' refer to? The browser? The web site? "Putting them into laymen terms" (Don't they mean "putting it into layman's terms? ) "...help potential investors understand how Scudder can improve your bottom line" They changed subjects - what do potential investors have to do with YOUR bottom line?? Should be "help potential investors understand how Scudder can improve their bottom line"

I'm not an English major, and I'm not trying to be picky for the sake of it. My point, if it's not obvious, is : would you hire someone with a resume full of spelling and grammatical errors? Especially if they were applying for a job writing resumes? I wouldn't. I found both the webthisweek site, and their home page amateurish. I read a columnist in the National Post the other day say one day there will be a tulip called Amazon (remember the Dutch tulip craze?). I suspect there will also be one called Valu-Net. But those days don't appear to be here yet.

I'm not trying to burst the bubble here, or looking for a flame war, just adding my two cents worth. Hopefully people will appreciate that. Hey, what do I know, anyway? I passed on Yahoo's IPO at $13 U.S., because I thought they had a lousy browser :) Losing money? Lousy product? Doesn't matter! Buy it!
