Dave, any thoughts on IDE CDRW drives?

I am about to give up on my SCSI Ricoh 62xx drive. I still get a SCSI error message at the end of a write in my ABIT BH6/AHA2940U2W setup. I can't even install my Adaptec AHA2920 card in the ABIT board. It locks on boot. I tried all the slots. The 2940 card kinda works...for some reason the Adaptec SCSI bios will not load.

I think I will try a Mylex BT-932 card dual channel SCSI card.

I am off to the Pomona computer fair for the first time. I have a feeling I will spend some money.

Sony makes an IDE RW drive 24X/4X/2X (buy.com $293). HP has the 24X/4X/2X 8100i (best price PriceWatch $308). Do you have a preference?
