Tim & Glenn A suggestion for the site (if you and Glenn aren't already thinking this way),
1)Make a wish list of functions, all and any. 2)Prioritize the list using specific criteria, (cost to implement, level of use, costs to acquire (like data feeds, quote svc.s)) Maybe the thread could do a poll or vote for top requested features. 3)Break the site development into phases, don't try to do it all at once. (learned this, several times on similar projects) 4)Make the first phase easy, to navigate, use. 5)Budget may determine how you implement the other phases depending on how complex and the kinds of functions you want. 6)Determine who will be maintaining the site and different pages once it's up, before you launch. 7)Maybe you can have different people with specific backgrounds/experiences maintain or provide dd on sectors they know very well. 8)Building a website is very much like building a house: you have to have a fairly good blueprint. Otherwise you have no idea on materials, what the costs are, how many windows, doors etc. Have someone build a blueprint and functional plan, it will be well worth the money, time and effort.
You have the hp right now to make this site work based on this threads popularity, you need a team that can execute it. Maybe you and Glenn (see I spelled your name right Glenn, for once) have a lot of this figured out. Just some thoughts, happy to help if you guys want it. GO FOR IT. Gunna go chase the seals in my kayak. Glenn, I hope your feeling better and being well cared for. m |
