I think there is a place for both online and retail shopping.

I have noticed that CPU has gotten more competitive in the last month or so. I purchase a pretty high amount of computer gear and I use both CPU and multiwave. I place my big system type orders at Multiwave and pick-up components at CPU.

A lot of times I don't want to wait a week to get what I need.

Recently I purchased a pair of Viewsonic PS790 from CPU because they got within 15 bucks of the online price and it was actually cheaper because it costs about 30 bucks to send one of these monitors by UPS ground.

IMO, CPU is aware of the price advantage that online can offer, and they are trying to find a competitive price point that will help them keep their market share and still return a profit.

We will find out the facts in about a week.
