RE: @Home & Excite, HDTV, Broad Band, Web TV and.....

STEN (Click! To Play).. Just some possible "connections"...pun intended

@Home's purchase of Excite was based on the belief that Broad Band will be the preferred means of connecting and communicating via internet (despite limited current usage)..Very simply put Broad band is cable...Cable modems via the same fiber optic cables as Cable TV...

Cable vs telephones lines is basic battle w. different type of phone lines trying to improve speed ....VERY POLITICAL

Now MSFT took a huge stake in Comcast..the 3rd largest cable country in the nation.

While concurrently HDTV is being mainstreamed and TV broadcasters are starting to send high definition signals.

Consequently...convergence of media....monitor of tv...equals monitor of computer...with same quality of picture.............with same capability for transmission of content...TALK about having TOO many channels....All those damn channels and there still isn't anything to watch!

LOL....

Anyway what does this mean? WebTV is or could be comparable and equal to current PC...making Internet connectivity even accessible for Mr. & Mrs. Joe Six Pack...

Then what the heck does this have to do with STEN or Click! To Play?...

Note...first that Click! is a WebTV partner and provider, therefore it already has "some" relationship to MSFT...

Then imagine the possibilities....remember the buddy you had in college...who you use to play chess with? Who now lives half way around the world...

Turn on the TV or HDTV....with Click's interactive gaming...play a game of Chess with your good friend...

What about Bingo...or Bridge with multiple players in different locations...you can have National Tournaments and competitions with BIG big prizes.......

Sounds fun....and all you have to do is turn on the TV.

Just some random thoughts from.....

the Cyberian Gulog...
