Speaking of partitioning, James, this is probably one of the ways that AXC customized its instrumentation recorders in order to store the high frequency signals and high data rates characteristic of ATM, SONET, and OC3. The data recorded on the cartridges can be processed right away on another port by a computer. With the instrumentation recorders as building blocks, it was relatively easy for AXC to combine these with its automation technology to roll-out its DIS robotic libraries. ATT, MCI, and Sprint are all AXC customers and probably use these instrumentation recorders/libraries in the central hubs to collect information about the state of their extensive networks. You can get more information from the spec sheets at the Ampex web site. These are the newest instrumentation recorders - DIS 160i and the DIS 820i - that I think showcase AXC's growing ability to leverage the core technology and common components of its DST products to quickly develop product extensions customized for new market segments.
Also, while you're there, you may want to check out the new employment posts for marketing positions (liaison with pr firm, responsible for trade shows, etc...) and even more software engineers (custom scripts, device drivers, etc...). The expansion beat goes on..... |
