I have been an ABTX long since 12/96 and obviously am very disappointed. My initial reaction was anger directed at management. But as the weekend progresses, I am really starting to wonder whether my anger is justified. There is absolutely no evidence, at this time, that JT misled us. A likely scenario is that a deal was on track until a couple of days ago and then the suitor tried to lowball us knowing we had a "deadline". JT and the board did what was right for all shareholders and said NO THANKS. It is very difficult to believe that ML, DB, JT, the board etc. would all have conspired to perpetrate a"deal is on track" hoax. JT has always been very open and informative when he could. For example, he foretold the biotech agreements which have come through like clockwork. Why would he begin to jack us around now with so much at stake? Until you can present evidence that shows deceit, then I think many are simply looking for anything to direct their intense disappointment. A deal will come ultimately but on more favorable terms for us. I can wait but I cannot say I was not intensely disappointed that the deal was "suspended". Regarding the post that said JT did acquisitions too quickly, I believe he would have been severely criticized if key companies had been snapped up before they were part of ABTX. Personally, I 'd rather know these companies were mine NOW and deal with the debt as the next problem. RR
