What's the price of FTEL? What is their nature of business?

Hate to be this far off-topic, so I'll keep it uncharacteristically brief.

FTEL's main business is the manufacture of high-end data communications hardware. Most of their recent price activity, though, is because of their ISP arm, FNET. It's a very forward-thinking ISP (as is just about everything FTEL does) that has recently announced such things as 1-800 flat-rate access (think about it -- that's BIG!!!), a deal with WebTV, and the announced intent to acquire another ISP with some futuristic capabilities.

I got in at $1.47 on 12/18/96, and have averaged up twice since then. It's trading in the $5 ballpark today. Most of us in the thread are extremely bullish on the company. We have good reason to believe they have 6 news releases they're sitting on to dole out one at a time when it suits them. This stock always *jumps* on news releases. Personally, I expect it to get over $6 pretty quickly on the next one. It doesn't typically slide very much between news releases (tends to only slow down its climb) because most holders seem to be too optimistic, leaving very few sellers.

Well, whaddya know. I saved this message, jumped over to the FTEL thread, and saw more *news* from FTEL. The news has to do with their 1-800 voice server, and some optimistic statements about the national clients for this that they've already gotten onboard.

Hard to say what effect this'll have on their stock price this late in the day on a Friday, but they typically have a fairly strong last hour anyway. This should be fun! <g>

Nobody has (or can) set any target prices for this company. All we know is that it's going to be "pretty high".

Do your own DD, and by all means check out the FTEL thread. Most exciting issue in my portfolio, and the best thread I've seen on SI.
