I beg to differ. Starr and Hyde should have asked permission from the Senate to proceed with what they wanted to do. The "trial" is the property of the Senate now; not the House or any other governing body. That is my interpretation of procedures that were reviewed and agreed upon prior to starting the Senate investigation. Otherwise it clearly becomes a stacked deck in favour of the prosecutors. How would you feel if you had someone other than a Senator deciding the next move on your agenda. I know what I would say. Think if this had happened in the House. In my opinion, Hyde has played his hand into the defence team. He has brought the entire issue of partisan politics back to the floor of the Senate. The Senators have tried very hard to avoid that very problem and scenario. Lunacy at its height!! If the president is impeached in this environment now, clearly I could not believe any semblance of fairness has been allowed to happen. This is not a fair "trial". It is partisan politics = witch hunt mentality. That hurts!! And is almost unforgiveable!!
