The key question for Maxtor is the quality of earnings going forward. If you look at the chart, you will see a typical pattern of a rise into the period near earnings and then a sell off down to near the 50 day moving average.

After some digestion, a new assault on the yearly highs is likely because the earnings story will continue to be positive in the future.
