Cowen & Co comments on SAP-Says caution warranted. A lesser threat for i2.

Shane here is a blurb from Cowen & co regarding SAP and ERP segment.I guess the ERP guys will be struggling to maintain the some sort of growth in the next 2 years while i2 will in all likelihood keep surging ahead.I guess customers will like the quick return on their investments and the ease of implementation will not hurt either.I guess anything to improve the bottom line and efficiency,I say good prospects for ITWO. My opinions are of course biased.<g>

Q4 Shortfall Keeps Us Cautious On SAP And Enterprise Software

SAP is the dominant applications software vendor in the world on the strength of its ERP (enterprise resource planning) suite. However, global economic uncertainty and diversion of resources to year-2000 fixes have slowed the market for enterprise software. A recent SG Cowen/PlugIn Datamation survey of users found mixed spending plans for 1999, and license revenue, which drives valuations, is apt to remain depressed for the industry. This week, SAP announced a few details on a disappointing Q4, implying a decline in license revenue and EPS. We expect revenue growth for SAP to be below 25% for the next two years and have lowered estimates accordingly.
