Re: Indirect personal question to *AV* on his personal wealth

Quite clearly there are wide differences in the ways all of us on this thread go about buying and selling stocks. Since your style most closely resembles my comfort level, i.e. investing in companies that are in my general field of expertise, I closely follow your "picks".

I am absolutely ASTOUNDED that you are in the mid 30% range for your ENTIRE PORTFOLIO. Since you post your buy and sell points (sometimes even before you do), it has been quite easy to track. I don't have to guess that you bought and sold a stock 10 times in one day so that a 1/2 point gain might really be a 100% profit (my hat goes off to those, like Shawn, that seem to be able to do this-- but some of us have day jobs).

The problem is that because you don't do this with any fanfare, like saying, "*** AV's Killer Pick***", I have to parse this stuff from all your postings.

Anyway, as regards what Dorothy said:
<<("paltry 1,000 shares") At these prices we need to redefine "paltry" in the dictionary!!!>>
What kind of dollar volume do you have in stocks at any given time, and, what type of gains are we talking here in real dollars?

I know these are ridiculously personal questions, so be discrete. In my book, it's one thing to put a thousand here a thousand there, it's another to put TENS of thousands here and there-- unless either you're filthy rich (which I doubt you are because you indicate you have a "real job"), or you have icewater in your veins. In any case, you're not someone I'd like to have over for poker <g>.
