Ahem! I have a PhD! And I disagreed with the idea of shorting Intel.

Moved out of my position in AMD today. Missed the high of 36 1/8 and had to accept 35 1/4. I estimated this local crest at 36 1/2 and I was a trifle high.

I think two things mitigate against holding AMD right now. All the good news seems to be out. Strong flash market, K6 on time, market for semis strengthening. The downside risk of bad news, especially a delay in the K6 or failure to meet clock speeds, is too great. Added to that I believe that there will be a market correction in the next few weeks as the January effect dies and money is taken out of the market to meet the tax obligations from all of those capital gains in 1996. Investors in semis will be especially prone to large tax liabilities leading them to sell some of their holdings.

Will wait for a correction and then move back in!

Regards to all, will keep visiting the board only keep the personal attacks down please.
