Jimbo - Re: "What ARE you smoking? This could be very serious."

This is the exact scenario that I predicted would happen - and indeed DID HAPPEN - during and after the Pentium FDIV debacle of November/December 1994.

Most people at that time never heard of Intel, let alone the "Pentium".

When Intel received constant National Press Coverage, and eventually agreed to replace the flawed Pentium chips, everybody KNEW the INTEL NAME and NEW INTEL STOOD BEHIND their NAME.

That EVENT launched the incredible success of the original Pentium and the Pentium Brand Name, and made INTEL a household word.

Today, with the INTERNET a constant TOPIC of NATIONAL NEWS MEDIA ATTENTION(when Zipper-Mouth-Gate isn't discussed), Intel will ONCE AGAIN be blessed with the National News Limelight - ALL FOR FREE !

When Intel representatives are allowed to explain the advantages of the Pentium III security features, and their ability to be TURNED OFF at will - the whole world will once again see and hear INTEL on their nightly news and be reasssured that Intel's technology will once again improve the Internet experience, enriching their computing lives.

You wait and see - it will happen again.

Intel will receive millions and millions of dollars of free publicity!

AMD will have to ANSWER why they have no roadmap for including security features in their CPUs.
