I'm missing something about your commentary.
From a simpleton view I'd assume that the worlnet dial-up customers dont need to be instantly dumped into the ATHM network structure. I'd also assume that necessary support staff and infrastructure would be included in the deal. It wouldnt be just handing over the customers.
Also I certainly hope that ATHM's caching hierarchy better isnt so fragile in its organization that it cant handle massive surges in customers (especially snail slow ones). That is after all the goal! So may people seem to forget that 330K customers is just the first stages of the ramp. Exponential growth is still ahead.
As an addition-- I've said this before: dont underestimate the power of not having to change an e-mail address. That issue alone keeps many AOL customers with AOL. If ATHM is able to keep the Worldnet customers with the same e-mail address it will be drastically easier to get them to convert to broadband.
