Paul, do you know if the ID can be switched off permanently.
Either as a BIOS, or a bond option.

Surely, Intel could market 2 options and let the customers decide.

I suspect that short term this will be negative but agree that long term, Intel could come out positively if they give the customers the choice of permanently not having the feature.

This would seem to be the smart thing to do and Intel generally does the smart thing IMHO.
