Snowy, you mentioned that with Medved QuoteTracker, the performance was very slow. The reason for that is that you were using one of the free services. They only provide one quote per web page. QuoteTracker had to issue many requests to get the quotes on all of the stocks in your portfolio and then download all of those pages. You can see where that would be very slow unless you are on a T1 line. If you use DATEK as your quote source for QuoteTracker, you will see that the performance is drastically improved. on a 28.8 modem, I can refresh 5 to 6 times per minute with a 30 stock portfolio. If you use one of the pay services as a source, the performance can be even better. AND, you would not have the monthly fees of over $50 per month. As far as indices, we just modified QuoteTracker to get the major indices from the quote provider when available and the rest from Yahoo (as before). That way, the data is far more timely. (Yahoo only updates the indices every minute). I hope this gives you a better picture of QuoteTracker capabilities without having to pay a single dollar. Sincerely, Jerry Medved 2GK, Inc. medved.net
