bbruin, I'm not sure. I did visit one Canadian broker's website when I thought I might open an account. Perhaps I misread the requirement because of my orientation to this countries rules. I just went through my bookmarks, and I must have deleted that link. If you have a Canadian account, I'll have to take your word for it, but wonder if perhaps you could have misinterpreted the requirements? 250% initial margin seems to be extremely high. What are the maintenance requirements? Is it a brokerage specific rule rather than a Canadian regulation?

Are you a US resident? If so I'd have some other questions for you, if you don't mind.

Well, sorry about KRY. Believe it or not I'd be quite happy if I never ran across another stock distribution scheme in my life. They're bad for everyone. Shorting them and making a profit mitigates the negatives for the shorter, but they're still systemic problems. There are probably a few juniors in Canada that are legit that will have problems raising money because of shenanigans like those of KRY and BXMNF.
