Chuzzlewit

As in Dickens' "Martin Chuzzlewit"?

You and I know that a split changes the economics of the Balance Sheet not one whit.

However, not every one who buys stocks knows this and their irrational expectations can drive further buying in a feedback loop.

I.e. Stocks go up because they are perceived to be possessing additional value after a split because they go up after a split!.

Sort of like the recursive definition of a celebrity - someone who is famous by virtue of being well-known.

Ciao, Daniel
