ASUS has perfected the design of its legendary P2B motherboard, and released it as the new P2B-F, a board that is sure to become an instant favorite. The P2B-F improves on its predecessor with the addition of one PCI slot and a fourth DIMM memory socket, as well as several other great features. The P2B-F contains one Slot 1 connector which supports the entire range of Pentium II processors from 233MHz to 450MHz as well as Celeron processors from 266MHz to 400MHz. It can also support the Pentium III processor at speeds of 450MHz and 500MHz, but a BIOS update is required to enable this support.

The P2B-F truly is all you need for the ideal new high-speed computer.
Its predecessor the P2B is known as one of the most stable and high-performing 440BX boards available, and the P2B-F will continue to offer the same superior performance. The P2B-F is better suited for new PC's, since it has fewer slots for older ISA devices and more PCI slots. It's one of the most versatile motherboards you'll find: with support for Celeron, Pentium II and Pentium III processors, you can use any of fifteen different processors with this board. Finally, like the P2B, the P2B-F has quite a small ATX footprint, ensuring its usability in almost all standard ATX case sizes.

The memory subsystem consists of four 168-pin DIMM slots which
support up to 1024MB of unbuffered SDRAM DIMM modules. PC-100 SDRAM must be used with Pentium II processors of 350MHz speeds and above.

There are four dedicated 32-bit PCI expansion slots on the board, as well as one dedicated 16-bit ISA slot, one shared PCI/ISA slot, and the AGP port.

The On-board I/O includes two 16550A serial ports and one SPP/EPP/ECP parallel port, PS/2 mouse and keyboard ports, an infared header, a floppy drive port, and two USB ports. The PCI IDE controller has two Ultra ATA/33 IDE ports that will support up to four IDE devices and the LS-120MB floppy disk drive. There is also support for an EIDE CD-ROM. Other features include a Creative Labs SB-Link header, Wake-on-LAN support and a chassis intrusion detection header.

The BIOS is an Award Plug and Play BIOS on a 2MB Flash EEPROM which supports ACPI, DMI, and Green. The P2B-F is an ATX form factor motherboard, measuring 7.5in. x 12in. ASUS offers a one-year repair or
replacement warranty with this product. In the event that your ASUS
motherboard is defective, customers should contact NECX. NECX will arrange for repair or replacement of the product according to the terms of the warranty.
