Internet Media Announces New COO

Acquisition of Wireless and Dial-Up ISP www.CyberHighway.com, Allowing Rapid Deployment of Wireless T1 Technology and Breaking of Pricing Barriers Nationwide

BATON ROUGE, La.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 25, 1999-- Internet Media Corp. (OTC BB: USRF - news) today announced the appointment of Bill Basham, president and chief executive officer of CyberHighway, to chief operating officer of Internet Media. On Jan. 22, 1998, Internet Media announced that it had agreed to acquire privately held CyberHighway, a Boise, Idaho-based Internet service provider (ISP). Basham will continue to serve as president and CEO of CyberHighway, which will become a wholly owned subsidiary of Internet Media.

David Loflin, president and CEO of Internet Media, said: ''Bill Basham and his CyberHighway team's accomplishments to date have included the rapid and profitable expansion of a company that serves more than 25,000 subscribers in more than 80 cities located in 11 states, including several wireless systems. This is validation of their exceptional abilities.''

Basham stated, ''We were one of the first ISPs to deploy big bandwidth wireless, and after a two-year search were unable to find a technology that would enable us to meet the unprecedented demand for low-cost wireless bandwidth all the way up to T1 speeds. That is until now. The Internet Media technologies have the flexibility, pricing and performance to not only meet that demand, but may actually give us an competitive advantage over companies like Lucent (NYSE: LU - news), Winstar Communications (Nasdaq: WCII - news) and Telligent (Nasdaq: TGNT - news).''

Loflin added, ''Our technologies, together with the CyberHighway acquisition and all that it represents, will enable Internet Media to rapidly deploy its wireless bandwidth, and should allow us to compete successfully with national ISPs like America Online (NYSE: AOL - news), Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT - news), EarthLink (Nasdaq: ELNK - news), Verio (Nasdaq: VRIO - news), AT&T (NYSE: T - news) and Mindspring (Nasdaq: MSPG - news), and even regional ISPs such as Micron (NYSE: MU - news) and Rocky Mountain Internet (Nasdaq: RMII - news).''
