Steelcase, Navistar, Others [Monsanto] Liked by Schafer, Barron's Says

New York, Jan. 24 (Bloomberg) -- Steelcase Inc., Herman
Miller Inc., Ladd Furniture Inc. and Navistar International Corp.
are among the stocks liked by Oscar Schafer, a member of
Cumberland Associates LLC, Barron's reported in its ''Roundtable
'99'' issue. Schafer likes growth prospects at Steelcase and
Herman Miller because they've both developed new designs for
office furniture, and Navistar because he sees steady income
growth at the company from its medium trucks and diesel engines.
Schafer also recommends Boron, LePore & Associates Inc., Monsanto
Co. and Brunswick Corp., Barron's said.
Navistar and Delco Remy International Inc., a maker of
automobile starters and alternators, formed a joint venture last
month to rebuild engines and provide parts for medium-duty
trucks.
