My problem on this issue was that AMD management did nothing in the way of giving guidance to lower ASP's even though it had to be obvious to them that this was happening. They did however coincidently give guidance to higher shipments and market share. This is seen by any analyst that is recommending them as a betrayal of any trust that they may have in AMD's management. The results are very obvious from the action of the stock.

In other words the overzealousness was driven by the direction of management's guidance.
