Compaq Computer Corporation (NYSE:CPQ) today announced two new Compaq-branded network laser printers, the Compaq LN16 and the Compaq LN32, and remote control print management software. Uniquely tailored for Compaq's enterprise server solutions, the Compaq LN16 and Compaq LN32 laser printers offer complete support for OpenVMS, DIGITAL UNIX and Windows NT environments.
The LN16 and LN32 are ideal network laser printers that offer the best in performance, reliability and network integration for multiple-platform environments including Windows, NT, UNIX, NetWare, and especially for OpenVMS with DCPS software.
The Compaq LN32 includes the new Genicom IntelliPrint Controller, enabling fast output and outstanding quality. It prints at up to 32 ppm with 1200 x 1200 dpi resolution, and incorporates Adobe PostScript 3 printing technology. The Compaq LN16 is an affordable 17ppm desktop, high-quality printer for small- to medium-sized workgroups. Both printers come with the new Remote Control Print Management Software, which enables systems/network administrators to centrally find, configure, monitor and manage all SNMP printers on their TCP/IP network.
Available in February in North America, Europe and Asia, the network version of the Compaq LN16 is priced starting at $1,549(1) and the network version of the Compaq LN32 is priced starting at $3,295(1).
