Mississippi State University Review Board Approves Low Magnetic Field Chronic Pain Study

BOCA RATON, Fla., Jan. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Jacobson Resonance Enterprises (OTC Bulletin Board: JRSE) announced today that the Mississippi State University Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects in research voted to approve a study entitled "Therapeutic Effects of Low Frequency, Picotesla Magnetic Fields on Osteoarthritic Knees." The Jacobson Resonator will be utilized for production of the extremely weak magnetic fields in the IRB/FDA study protocol.

MSU, Department of Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Sport, in conjunction with Oktibbeha County Hospital is currently seeking volunteers in the double blind, randomized clinical study for treatment and relief of chronic pain of osteoarthritic knees. The treatment is safe, non-invasive and the study will last approximately two weeks for each participant, of which there will be sixty (60).

Dr. John Lamberth, principal investor, said, "Muscle function tests will be performed. Both legs will be tested for concentric flexion and extension by measuring peak torque at 90 degrees per second on the isokinetic muscle testing equipment. Preliminary research on the therapeutic effects of low level, pulsed magnetic fields on bone and soft tissue diseases show there may be a potentially beneficial reduction in the chronic pain and debilitation associated with osteoarthritis." He added, "If the results of the study show a beneficial reduction in pain and improvement in mobility in arthritic patients, there is a possibility the study could be expanded to include other types of pathology, e.g., osteoporosis, soft tissue injuries and muscular diseases."

Dr. Jerry Jacobson, Chairman of Jacobson Resonance Enterprises, said, "It's a great pleasure and privilege to work with Dr. Lamberth and his associates at MSU. I have found them to be eminently curious, highly professional and genuinely caring of their fellow human beings. We certainly look forward to a long-standing cooperation."

Jacobson Resonance Enterprises, Inc., leader in the emerging field of bio-electromagnetic resonance, is conducting double-blind randomized clinical studies at four sites in seeking FDA approval in the U.S. The company has applied for a Certificate of Conformance, also known as CE-Mark, which allows manufacturing and distribution of its proprietary bio-electromagnetic medical equipment in the European Common Market for treatment and amelioration of pain. The CE-Mark is the equivalent to the FDA marketing approval in the U.S.
