your point IS valid concerning possible stock manipulation - but "pump and dump" is much more prevalent and dangerous on message boards like this. 90% of financial PR does not engage in "pump and dump"/manipulation. but i would guess that 50% of investors on message boards are engaged in a mild form of manipulation. i.e. talking up stocks, creating interest in obscure penny stocks that they have a big position in - then selling all the stock without first telling their "friends". maybe investors on these boards should disclose THEIR position whenever they post... i GUARANTEE you that more people have lost money listening to some crackpot on SI than listening to the "professional" pump'n'dump crowd -
