Santiago, Good thing that nuclear weapons have a limited shelf life! Yes we are trying to put a plug in the bottle containing the genie called the "old Soviet Empire". That's still a very high priority The former Communists are impeding economic growth in Russia just to make Yeltsin look bad. and it's working. So I would not be surprised to see elements in Russia behind Belgrade's and Baghdad's current intransigience....

Must have been fascinating seeing the Ft. Sill display. I'd never want to be under an artillery or B-52 bombardment.... Offshore as you take supply boats out to platforms you also often get to see the Navy practicing anti-submarine warfare which is also quite fascinating (joint air/sea operations). Also our seismic work in the GOM offshore Louisiana located about ten years ago a sunken WWII German submarine essentially intact and buried in about 25 feet of muck should that ever be of interest to historians....

Finally about five months ago in Tunisia we had a seismic shoot. The seismic crew stumbled into an old German minefield laid by the Afrika Korps back in 1943. Interestingly my friend in the Tunisian Army said that most of the mines still worked when they rolled their detonator/field sweeper through there subsequently to clear the area! (Noone was hurt).

Right now from an investors perspective however the issue is Iraq's increasing export of crude oil.....

Sincerely,

Doug F.
