Check out the following for info about my stock pick of the year, Cendant (CD).

cbs.marketwatch.com

Here's the part about CD:

The number of brand names under one roof appeals to Cutler, as does Disney's increasing presence on the Web. "Now they have a whole new medium to shove their content through," he says.

Cendant, which cross-markets to millions of customers worldwide, also has Internet operations, Cutler says. Its interests also include the Century 21 and Coldwell Banker real estate franchises, Ramada hotel chains and Avis rental cars.

"Cendant has a significant presence on the Web without any recognition for it. These are companies that are adept at exploiting new opportunities," he says.

Cendant is in the process of burnishing its image after being rocked by an accounting scandal at its CUC International unit (see press releases). The stock still trades substantially off its high.

End of quote.

In my humble opinion, anyone who doesn't get in this stock while it's still under $20 is going to miss both the boat and the train.

Roomsandcars.com, anyone?

Also, last week I heard a story on NPR that realtor rates are expected to go up from six to seven percent this year -- more money in CD's pockets and those of anyone holding this stock.
