CoveredCall.Com Announces The Week's Actively Traded Stock Options
HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan.22, 1999--This week's option trading was highlighted by active stock option trading in several securities, according to CoveredCall.Com, an Internet-based stock information service.
The markets were closed Monday.
Tuesday's most active options included Cisco Systems (Nadaq:CSCO), which finished the week at $102 3/4. Options on Data Broadcasting Corp. (Nadaq:DBCC) were also actively traded Tuesday. Data Broadcasting shares have given up about 10 points over the course of the last 5 trading days. Also on the most actives were Oracle Corp., Citigroup and Excite Inc. Oracle (Nasdaq:ORCL) was nearly unchanged on the week, Citigroup (NYSE:C) gained about 1 point on the week and Excite (Nasdaq:XCIT) gave up about 20 points to $87 7/8.
On top the most active options table on Wednesday was Iomega (NYSE:IOM). Iomega gave up about 1 1/2 points to finish the week at $8 1/8. Next on the most actives was MCI Worldcom (Nasdaq:WCOM) which gave up a little ground to finish the week at $74 7/8. Also on the most actives Wednesday were Compaq Computer, Microsoft and Dell. For the week, Compaq (NYSE:CPQ) lost a point to $46, Microsoft (Nasdaq:MSFT) gained over 5 points to $156 1/4 and Dell (Nasdaq:DELL) gained a couple points to $83.
On top of the most actives Thursday was IBM followed by Intel Corp. Intel (Nasdaq:INTC) traded above $143 this week only to finish the week at $128 7/8. Also on the most actives Thursday were AT&T (NYSE:T), Sun Microsystems (Nasdaq:SUNW), and Telecomunicacoes Brasileiras SA (NYSE:TBH). AT&T finished the week up slightly at $88 1/4 while Sun and Telecomunicacoes both gave up ground to finish at $98 and $62 1/8, respectively.
Wrapping up the week, Friday found C-Cube Microsystems (Nasdaq:CUBE) on top of the most actives. C-Cube lost 7 points on Friday to close at $22 5/8. Also on the most actives were IBM, BMC Software, and Wind River Systems. BMC (Nasdaq:BMCS) gained 5 3/8 points on Friday to close at $43 7/8 while Wind River (Nasdaq:WIND) lost over 17 points on Friday to close the week at $32 1/8.
